I want to remain at Manchester City for a long time, says Silva

David Silva has declared he would like to stay at Manchester City for as long as he can.

The mercurial playmaker has firmly established himself as one of the Premier League’s brightest creative talents, since joining City from Valencia in 2010.

In his seven years at the Etihad, Silva has won two league titles, one FA Cup and two EFL Cups with the Citizens.

And Silva, 31, also expressed his admiration for current boss Pep Guardiola, who he says gets the best out of him on the pitch.

“I’m very happy to be at City and I would like to continue there for as long as possible,” Silva said.

“It obviously depends on my health, my quality on the pitch and if the club want me to stay.

“I would like to be there until the end but the Premier League is such a hard league to play in, it is much more physical than somewhere like La Liga, so it depends.

“Guardiola has helped me so when I receive the ball I have space. The way Guardiola plays suits me, it enables me to get into space in attacking positions.

“The thing he does is he gets me to concentrate on seeing where I can put the ball. There is always some space to put it into.

“I am always trying to find those areas, it makes us attack better.”
