Burnley boss Dyche linked with Crystal Palace vacancy
Crystal Palace are still on the hunt for a new manager and are being strongly linked with a swoop to lure Burnley boss Sean Dyche away from Turf Moor.
Dyche led the Clarets to Premier League safety during the 2016-17 campaign, despite the Lancashire outfit being one of the favourites to go down at the start of the season.
However, Dyche’s men proved to be well-organised and difficult to beat, and their imperious home form ensured they stayed in the division for another year.
This has reportedly caught the eye of Palace chairman Steve Parish, who is looking to appoint a successor to Sam Allardyce after the latter resigned at the end of last season.
Dyche is also allegedly keen to discuss the role with the powers that be at Selhurst Park.
Parish has made it clear that he is thinking long-term before making his next managerial appointment, and he is eager to establish stability and a consistent playing style on the pitch.
“It’s really about what direction we want to go as a club with our playing style,” he said.
“I think it’s what we want to try and do – break into that top ten. It was a very flat division from about seventh down [last season].”
