Daniels hopeful that big stars will stay at Bournemouth
Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels is hopeful the club can hold onto their best players this summer but is fully expecting some big clubs to come calling.
The south-coast club finished ninth in the Premier League last season with star striker Joshua King scoring 16 goals for the Cherries.
There has been plenty of transfer speculation surrounding Eddie Howe’s squad following such an impressive display last year, something that comes as no surprise to Daniels.
He said: “If players do really well, it is only natural that other clubs will come along and want them.
“Hopefully, we can keep hold of our ‘so-called’ best players so we can push forward again next season.
“Joshua (King) has done fantastically well. He has been a crucial part of our squad and scored an abundance of goals. There would be no surprise if some big names came fishing for him.
“But he knows how we play – and that suits him. We all hope he will be here next season and we would certainly like to think that will be the case.
“If anybody tries to buy him, he will cost a lot of money. He scored 16 Premier League goals last season and not many strikers had a better record than that.
“I hope anybody who wants him has a big bank account because they would need it.”
