Tottenham target Ginter reportedly on the move
Tottenham have been boosted in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter after reports in Germany revealed that he could be allowed to leave this summer.
While Spurs have been very quiet in the transfer market to date, they are believed to be keen on Ginter, who was part of Germany’s victorious World Cup squad in 2014.
That was the year he joined Dortmund from Freiburg, but he has found his game time limited at the Westfalenstadion.
As a result, he is eager for a move where he will get greater first team opportunities, with his name increasingly being linked to Tottenham.
While Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen have established themselves as the first choice pairing at the back for Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino started to play three at the back at times last season.
The versatile Eric Dier often joined them to complete the back three, but Pochettino is believed to be looking for reinforcements at the back, particularly with Kevin Wimmer out of favour.
And with new Dortmund boss Peter Bosz willing to let Ginter go, according to Bild, Tottenham could be set to step up their chase.
They are set to face competition from Borussia Monchengladbach, who are also interested in the 23-year-old.
