Pep insists Bravo the key for City

Pep Guardiola believes Claudio Bravo’s can bring enough experience to fire Manchester City to new heights this season.

The Chilean international arrived in Manchester for £15.4million after completing his move from Guardiola’s former club Barcelona.

And Spaniard Guardiola thinks the 33-year-old’s international experience, combined with a big-game nous developed at the Nou Camp and his passing game will take Manchester City to the next level.

“He is a goalkeeper with a lot of experience in Spain and with his national team. He played with Real Sociedad and played important games during his two years at Barcelona,” 45-year-old Guardiola said.

“He helped his team-mates create something special with Chile. He is good at anticipating situations inside and outside of the box.

“He is good in the build-up play, quick in between the posts. He is a good player for us.”

Bravo’s arrival meant Joe Hart took another step towards the Man City door, but Guardiola says while he remains at the Etihad he will be given a fair shot.

He said: “We want the best for Joe Hart and of course the club is going to help him find the best solution. He will get what he deserves while he is here and I will try to be a fair judge.”
