Bright future excites Watford striker
Alex Jakubiak is about to settle into a loan spell with Fleetwood Town, but believes he can look forward to a bright future at Watford.
The 20-year-old striker was allowed to move to the League One club on Wednesday but only after signing a new for-year contract with Watford.
Though he did make his first-team debut for the Hornets in a 4-1 home defeat by Huddersfield Town at the end of the the 2013/14 season, Jakubiak’s first-team opportunities have since come at Oxford United and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Yet with his long-term future seemingly secure, Jakubiak is relishing what’s to come.
“I’m delighted,” he said.
“I have been here quite a few years now so I’m over the moon to extend my stay. Ever since I’ve been here I’ve been training my hardest and trying to improve.
“The coaching staff from Under-15’s when I joined have always helped young players improve and the academy set up here has always been great.
“So for me to come through it how I have and to sign a long-term contract now is so exciting.”
