Howe won’t rush Mings back at Bournemouth
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has promised to take his time reintegrating Tyrone Mings into first-team duties at the Vitality Stadium this season as the defender continues his rehabilitation from serious injury.
Mings, who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament 12 months ago, continued his recovery by appearing for Bournemouth in a testimonial fixture against AC Milan at the weekend.
New loan signing Jack Wilshere also appeared for Bournemouth but it was the return of Mings that really caught Howe’s eye.

The 23-year-old was a huge loss to Bournemouth during the Cherries’ debut campaign in the Premier League last season, playing just one game following his arrival from Ipswich Town before injury struck.
But Howe has called for patience from fans as Mings continues on the comeback trail.
“Tyrone Mings’ return is obviously a huge boost for everyone connected with the club,” said Howe.
“Tyrone has worked so hard behind the scenes. He’s put an incredible amount of effort to get to where he is right now. We have to ensure we keep him fit because I thought in the time that he was on the pitch we saw all of the attributes he brings to our side.
“When you have that length of time out it’s important that we build the individual up slowly and that’s what we’ll be doing with Tyrone.
“I’ve been really impressed by Tyrone in pre-season.
“He’s been in and around the group and has been a really positive influence around the players. He’s worked incredibly hard during his rehab and has been disciplined. I think he’s grown from the experience in a positive way.
“When we’ve seen him on the training pitch, he’s done very well. I’m excited about the future for him. Hopefully, he will get there because he deserves to.”
