Watmore needs Sunderland to learn fast
Sam Allardyce’s departure to the England top job left Sunderland without a manager, but Duncan Watmore insists the Black Cats are learning every day under new man David Moyes.
Moyes watched former club Everton climb to third under Ronald Koeman after Romelu Lukaku’s 11-minute hat-trick at the Stadium of Light.
The 53-year-old Scot has been around the block with Manchester United and Everton in a Premier League management career that stretches back to 2002, but with just a point from their first opening four fixtures, it hasn’t been easy going for Moyes in the North East.

But forward Watmore, who has featured in all four of the Mackems’ league games so far, is confident they are working hard enough to turn the tide.
“It is a learning curve, but we need to do it quickly,” the 22-year-old said.
“Everyone is taking responsibility; it is just frustrating because you cannot defend like that.
“We know that and we know we can do better and that is what we want to do next week – put in a much better performance.
“We needed to start well, we need more points and we will try to do that starting with Tottenham.
“We need to stay positive.”
