Liverpool’s Milner: Klopp is one of the best I’ve worked with

James Milner has worked with a whole host of managers during his long career and the Liverpool utility man insists Jurgen Klopp is up there with the best he has played under.

Spells at Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester City before the switch to Anfield have seen the former England international work under a range of different managerial styles and characters.

And the hugely energetic Klopp is certainly one of the most colourful bosses Milner has worked with and his passion and close relationship with his players is there for everyone to see.

The German’s methods are producing the required results though as the Reds currently sit fourth in the table, just two points below league-leaders Manchester City.

“Every manager is different, they have their strengths and weaknesses,” Milner said.

“But Jurgen is a top manager. Definitely up there with one of the best I’ve worked with.

“His organisation, his passion. The sessions he does are different to anything else I’ve ever experienced.

“It can only be a good thing. You see his enthusiasm when he’s bouncing on the touchline.

“He’s a top manager and hopefully we can go on and become very successful with him.”
