Lovren hails ‘perfectionist’ Klopp as Reds boss celebrates first anniversary
Defender Dejan Lovren has labelled Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp a “perfectionist” and a “good man” as he prepares celebrates his one-year anniversary at the club this weekend.
This Saturday marks a year since Klopp’s arrival at Anfield, 12 months in which the club has experienced a rollercoaster of emotions, from the highs of victories over Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, to the lows of two cup final defeats.
Liverpool currently sit fourth in the Premier League table having recorded four consecutive victories in the lead up to the international break, but face a tough clash against Manchester United in 11 days’ time.
But for Croatian international Lovren, who joined the Reds in 2014, Liverpool are in a good place with Klopp at the helm, insisting the German is the kind of manager every player relishes the opportunity to play under.

“He is a perfectionist and so everyone wants to be like him,” Lovren said.
“You want to give perfection during training and give 100 per cent on the pitch. It is great to see how intense he is on the touchline.
“He is really emotional and shows that in every part of the game. There are a lot of things that I have learnt from him but he is not just a good manager, he is a good man.
“I will never forget he gave me a couple of days off when I had a problem with my daughter and she was ill and in hospital. She needed an operation.
“It was at the time of the Augsburg game away in February and he said to me, ‘Go to Croatia. Be with your daughter’. These things are big for a player. He showed his personality then.”
