Cook: Cherries will build on landmark display
Bournemouth notched up a record Premier League win over Hull last weekend and skipper Steve Cook is convinced they have the talent to push up the table after forcing their way into the top half.
The centre-back was making his 200th appearance for the Cherries in their 6-1 success, and after his deflection led to Ryan Mason’s first-half goal, he made up for it with a strike at the other end.
The win allowed Bournemouth to move up to ninth in the table, and ahead of a clash against unbeaten Tottenham next up, Cook insists it’s no surprise to see the side in that position.

He said: “It’s not a big shock to us, that was the gaffer’s team talk, to break into the top ten. We have done in style and now we want to stay there.
“It’s all well and good saying that but we’re only seven games in. We don’t want to be looking down, we want to get to 40 points as quickly as possible and then keep improving.
“We’re in a good bit of form, especially at home. We owe Tottenham, they’ve given us a couple of hidings the last two games so we’ll be up for that one.”
