Shaqiri enjoying Stoke surge

Stoke City are starting to find their form in the Premier League according to Xherdan Shaqiri after the Swiss star helped the Potters to victory against Hull.

After a disastrous start to the season, Stoke are now unbeaten in four and have picked up back to back wins to move out of relegation danger.

Shaqiri scored both goals at the KCOM Stadium, one a brilliant free-kick, to get back on the scoresheet for the first time since August.

And with a home clash against Swansea coming up next week, Shaqiri has urged the Potters to maintain their current momentum.

He said: “It was important to win but the two goals were very beautiful. We played good, we got a clean sheet and we won the game. For the fans and Stoke City it was a beautiful day.

“For the first goal, somebody went deep and opened it for me to go in and try to shoot. I know I can shoot good so I tried and it was the right decision and I scored. I was very happy to score.

“The whole team is playing very well at the moment. We’re in a good shape, we managed the game for 90 minutes.

“Now we’re waiting for our next game against Swansea which we want to win. We have to train finishes in training and we can close more. The important thing was we won and got a clean sheet.”
