Mazzarri: Watford lacking complete performance in Premier League
Watford manager Walter Mazzarri insists he has everything in place for the Hornets to challenge higher up the Premier League table this term – they just need to perform for 90 minutes first.
The north Londoners impressed in the first half during their stalemate at Swansea, but Mazzarri believes his side were guilty of allowing their level to drop after the interval.
Watford currently sit ninth in the Premier League table following the point at the Liberty Stadium, but Mazzarri is sure they could gather some momentum with some consistent performances.
“We are growing in personality as a team, but we have to play for the whole game, not just one half,” he said.
“Considering it was an away game, the first half was one of our best so far, until the last 25 metres towards goal.
“Other than that we played in the first half as I want my team to play, but we do need to be more aggressive in the last 25 metres.
“In the second half we would have loved to have played the same as in the first half but we suffered a lot and we could have been much better.
“The mistakes we made allowed Swansea to be dangerous and meant there were some moments which we had to cover.”
