Watford boss Mazzarri buoyed by Janmaat’s return
Manager Walter Mazzarri had extra reason to smile following Watford’s victory over Hull City – the return of Daryl Janmaat.
The Dutchman came off the bench to replace Younes Kaboul on 72 minutes and had a hand in Watford’s winning goal ten minutes later when his cross was deflected into his own net by Hull’s Michael Dawson.
That result means Watford are now unbeaten in the last four games and, while Janmaat has been absent for three of those with a shoulder injury, Hornets head coach Mazzarri was delighted to welcome him back into the fold.

“I am very, very happy to have him [Janmaat] back. He is a player we missed a lot in the last couple of weeks,” he said.
“I would’ve liked us to have had the likes of Okaka, Success and Cathcart back with us as well.”
Janmaat and his team’s focus now turns to next weekend’s clash with joint leaders Liverpool.
And the 27-year-old defender insists they should approach the clash with confidence.
“We want to win games and to do that you need clean sheets,” he said. “At the moment the atmosphere around the club is really good so we have to push on and get as many points as we can.
“It’s always good to get back after an injury. I had a few weeks out and came back and I feel good.”
