Windass backs Snodgrass as Hull’s talisman
Robert Snodgrass is Hull City’s talisman and holds the key to their survival hopes – according to club legend Dean Windass.
Snodgrass has been on international duty with Scotland this week and returns to a Hull side fighting for their Premier League lives under Mike Phelan.
Snodgrass turned in a man of the match performance from the bench against Southampton last time out and Windass cannot overstate his importance to the team.
“He is one of the good guys, a proper footballer. He wants to play all of the time, even when he’s not 100 per cent,” he said.
“The way he has performed for Hull City not just this season so far but during his overall time at the Tigers has been terrific. Comfortably and by far, he’s the go-to guy at the moment.
“Coming back from that horrific injury two years ago took some work but finally, we’re seeing why City forked out for Rob all that time ago.

“He’s become the talisman for Mike Phelan’s side. He never gives up in games and even though, like I say, he wasn’t fit to face Southampton, he was desperate to play and ended up yet again scoring a crucial City goal.
“He can conjure up anything from anywhere and he will be invaluable to the Tigers this term. Here’s hoping Snodgrass can continue in this rich vein of form.”
