Okazaki and Leicester want to make yet more history
Leicester City made history on Tuesday night in securing their passage into the Champions League knockout stages, and striker Shinji Okazaki insists they are not going to stop there.
After their fairytale Premier League title last season, the Foxes have looked right at home at Europe’s top table.
They have won four and drawn one of their first five games to secure top spot in their group with a game to spare.
And Okazaki – who scored his first Champions League goal on Tuesday in their win over Brugge – insists there is more to come.
“This is unbelievable because of our history,” he said.
“But we want to write new history at Leicester City. For me, it is fantastic to be a part of that history. For the fans and the team, it is fantastic.”
For now the focus will return to the Premier League as the Foxes continue to struggle in defence of their crown.

And boss Claudio Ranieri agreed with his striker’s assessment that there are more milestones to come in Europe, but also quickly turned his side’s attentions to domestic matters.
“We have another journey now we are through the knock-out. Unbelievable. It is very important to be top of the group but our minds must now go on the Premier League because I want to push my players to think about the Premier League,” he added.
“But now we have to go back. In the Premier League we are very close to the relegation and we must play at the same level as the Champions League, because when we want to do something we achieve something.”
