Foxes’ focus must be on Premier League – Ranieri

Leicester City must switch their main point of focus onto the Premier League and away from Europe according to manager Claudio Ranieri.

The Foxes have already won their Champions League group with a game to spare but are languishing in 14th in the Premier League with just three wins to their name and are only two points above the relegation zone.

City take on FC Porto next Wednesday before facing Manchester City, Everton and West Ham prior to the end of the calendar year.

“In the Champions League we are so happy, but in the Premier League we aren’t happy,” Ranieri said.

“It’s important now to be focused on the Premier League. We are very focused on what happens in the Premier League.

“Of course, something has happened. The players are human – they are not machines. It’s normal that they remember that everybody last season played well.

“What everything did was good, but not this year. Now, we have to reconnect our brains. They must play with pressure. They must be focused and play with the same character.

“If you are under pressure, you are very smart, attentive and careful about every breath, but if you are relaxed, it’s not possible.”

Leicester square off with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
