Liverpool’s Lovren to show Wilson no mercy
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren insists he won’t be showing Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson any mercy when the two sides meet at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.
Wilson, who missed six months of his side’s debut Premier League campaign last season with a knee injury, is the Cherries’ top scorer this season and perhaps the biggest threat to Jurgen Klopp’s men.
And knowing the importance a win will have in keeping pace at the top of the table, Lovren is determined to ensure Wilson has a quiet game.

“I don’t look at individuals, I concentrate on myself, with my partner and my team-mates defensively,” he said.
“But these players [like Wilson], if they get the chance to shoot then they will, so we need to be close enough to block them and ready to fight.
“It’s always a battle in the box and everywhere around. I’m working hard to give always my best on the pitch and I think for now everyone is doing quite well.
“I think we’re much smarter than these previous years – we know what you have to do if you want to win the three points. It’s not enough to be at 99 per cent, it’s 100 per cent or nothing.”
