Phelan optimistic ahead of tough Hull Christmas
Mike Phelan has urged his Hull City players to remain patient as they prepare for a tricky festive period with a run of just one win from 13 Premier League games.
The Tigers conceded late to draw 3-3 with Crystal Palace on Saturday, despite leading 1-0 and 3-2 at the KCOM Stadium.
Phelan’s men sit 19th in the Premier League table and face Tottenham, Manchester City and Everton later this month.
But the Hull boss insists that, as long as his side continue to show tactical flexibility and plenty of heart, they could be about to secure a big haul of points.

“What you see from the team is that energy and effort. It doesn’t matter whether it’s one up front, two up front, three up front ,” he said.
“You have to run and you have to support each other and you have to get the ball from A to B.
“You have to do a lot more hard work at this level then your quality comes through. We showed a lot of that against Palace. We didn’t get our reward but I’ll take a point.
“I think it’s an impressive display and we now have to rest up and kick on because our next six or seven games are against the big boys.”
