Guardiola: Follow me for City success
Pep Guardiola insists that he holds the key to Manchester City’s success after their 4-2 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
Jamie Vardy netted a hat-trick as Claudio Ranieri’s men rolled back the clock in a performance befitting the reigning Premier League Champions.
Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Guardiola refused to blame the way his players were set up for the defeat, but conceded that he would have to look inside himself to find the solution to City’s woes.
“It was definitely not the game we wanted,” he reflected. “In four minutes, [losing] 2-0 is not easy,” Guardiola explained.
“Leicester are so good on the counter attack and second balls. They defended so well.

“It is not about the system. We defended well with these players at the beginning of the season.
“In every game, there are some good things but it is difficult at this level at 2-0 and 3-0 down.
“Now, we have to stand up and analyse what happened, especially mentally to [encourage] the players to step forward.
“Football is a game of good things, bad things and mistakes. I never complain to my players. I have to look inside myself – what I have to do – and they have to follow me.
“We have missed points in the last games. We have to change as quickly as possible.”
