Dann desperate for Eagles’ togetherness
Scott Dann believes togetherness is the only way Crystal Palace will escape adversity having slipped to an eighth defeat in ten after Saturday’s loss to Chelsea.
Diego Costa scored the only goal of the game at Selhurst Park, a tenth defeat of the season despite the Eagles opening the campaign on a positive footing.
But victory over Southampton earlier this month has been the only point of a happiness in recent weeks, a 3-0 success completely against both their run of results and performances in the top flight.
But for captain Dann, the Eagles’ dressing room is not reflective of a squad in the midst of a wretched run.

And with trips to London rivals Watford and Arsenal to come as part of the hectic festive period, the centre-back believes it’s that unity that will eventually come to the fore in their bid to avoid relegation.
“The main thing in the changing room is that although results aren’t great, and some of our performances haven’t been as we would have liked, the spirit and togetherness is there and anyone who watched [against Chelsea] can see that,” he said.
“There are positives and we need to try and take them into the next run of games.
“It is a massive game now at Watford and if we can play like we did [against Chelsea and Manchester United], and keep that togetherness, hopefully we will get the right result. That is the standard of performance we need every week.”
