Herrera: Manchester United’s ‘identity’ is back
No team wants to face an in-form Manchester United – and that’s just how it should be, according to midfielder Ander Herrera, who believes his side have got their swagger back.
The Old Trafford fear factor cultivated during the heady days of Sir Alex Ferguson has been sorely lacking since the Scot’s retirement in 2013.
United have won just one major trophy, the FA Cup, over the last three years – and finished no higher than fourth in the league – but there are signs their fortunes are just about to turn.
Under Jose Mourinho, the Red Devils have strung together six Premier League wins on the bounce and are still in the hunt for three cups this season.

And Herrera, who has been integral to United’s good form in the heart of midfield, says a big-club mentality has returned to the red side of Manchester.
“When you watch Manchester United now you realise quickly who is the big team and that means we are finding our identity, the DNA of this club and its history,” he said.
“The most important thing in my opinion is we are not conceding too many chances and we are behaving like a big team.
“Of course we have to improve and be more clinical because we are creating a lot more chances than we are scoring but we can be happy and we can even more optimistic for the next few months and the next year because I think we are doing the right things and working in the right way.”
