Mended Mendy will prove his Leicester City worth insists King

Andy King is adamant Leicester City fans will soon see the best of Nampalys Mendy as the summer signing bids to finally kickstart his Premier League adventure.

Midfielder Mendy had  to endure a disastrous start to life at the Premier League champions after arriving from Nice for £13million, injuring his ankle on his debut against Arsenal.

The defensive midfielder has now recovered though and featured against Middlesbrough on Monday, with Leicester securing a goalless draw with the Frenchman guarding the defence.

And while King admits it has been a difficult start to life for Mendy at the King Power, he fully expects the 24-year-old to become more influential over the coming months.

Fellow midfielder King said: “It has been difficult for him.

“It is a change of league and I am sure the Premier League is much different to the French league but that will have done him the world of good to put in a good performance like that and be a part of it.

“Hopefully, he will continue to get some more minutes under his belt and kick on because we are going to have a lot of games again in the second half of the season.”
