Tymon ecstatic with teenage Tigers impact
Hull City defender Josh Tymon admits he is forever beaming with pride at just how well he is coping with Premier League life – despite being just 17 years of age.
Tymon added an Emirates FA Cup appearance against Swansea to his growing collection of outings, scoring within seconds of coming off the bench to secure a place in the fourth round for Marco Silva’s new side.
That made it six appearances in all competitions for the youngster this term, also playing in the EFL Cup and the Premier League – though this was his first clean sheet in that time.
But youth has proven to be no barrier for Tymon, delighted with the way he is conducting himself both on and off the pitch.

“Watching the game from the bench, it was a good contest from both teams pressing to get the first goal, but luckily that came our way and I was over the moon to get the nod from the new manager,” he said.
“It’s hard when you’re not playing, but when you’re playing in the biggest league in the world you have to be able to deal with the quality when you are thrown on and I’m proud to say that in every game I’ve played so far I’ve been able to deal with it.
“I’ve shown at my age I’ve been capable of doing it.”
Despite coming on in the 89th minute at the KCOM Stadium, the 17-year-old wasted little time making an impact, scoring his first senior goal after latching onto Robert Snodgrass’ delivery.
He added: “With the type of player that Snodgrass is, I knew he would have the quality to pick me out, but I was caught in two minds about whether to pick out Abel (Hernandez) who was in good space in the box.
“But the defender wasn’t that tight to me so just took one touch and luckily I’ve slotted it in the bottom corner.”
