Crystal Palace striker Remy looking to make up for lost time

Loic Remy is eyeing up plenty more game time after finally making his Crystal Palace debut in the FA Cup.

Striker Remy is on a season-long loan at Palace from Chelsea, but less than two weeks after signing the 30-year-old picked up a knee injury.

But on Saturday the frontman made his Eagles bow, starting and playing the first 45 minutes as the Premier League side were held 0-0 by League One Bolton.

Remy came close to breaking the deadlock when he struck a post with a low drive, and is now setting his sights on forcing his way into Sam Allardyce’s first team.

“Yes it was ok and even though I would have preferred it to end with a win, from my personal point of view I think we had a good game and now we can look forward to the next game,” he said.

“But for me it is very good to be back in the squad.

“It was important that we monitored the amount of game time I had. I talked to the manager before the game so it was already planned that I was going to play 45 minutes that will build me up for the next game and hopefully I will be able to get more minutes in that match.

“I feel completely fit having worked with the medical staff who did a great job with me so hopefully no more injuries for the rest of the season as I really want to help the team as much as possible to get into a better position in the league table.

“We know where we are in the league but we also know the quality of our squad so there is no reason we cannot improve our position in the table and need to work hard.

“We now go on game to game and I am quietly confident that we will be back soon.”
