Vokes keen for Clarets to create FA Cup fireworks
Sam Vokes is dreaming of a deep FA Cup run after helping Burnley into the fourth round on Tuesday night.
Vokes opened the scoring for the Clarets against Sunderland in their third round replay before Andre Gray sealed the 2-0 victory with a goal seven minutes from time.
It was the fourth consecutive season that the Welsh international striker has netted in the FA Cup – each time against Premier League opponents.
The victory booked a fourth-round clash against Championship side Bristol City at Turf Moor and Vokes is hopeful that Burnley’s success in the competition will continue apace.

“We are looking forward to a good cup run,” said Vokes.
“A cup run is important for us. We know that. Against a team like Sunderland, who are in the Premier League as well, it was important to get a result.
“It’s another home tie now which is brilliant for us. It’s a game we are looking forward to.
“You saw the boys who came in who haven’t been in the team that much, everyone is dying to play.
“You saw the way we went about our job and we will be looking to do that again against Bristol City.”
