Wilshere: Best is yet to come from Bournemouth

Jack Wilshere insists Bournemouth must use their upcoming ten-day break to their advantage in order to bounce back to their best after their 2-2 draw with Watford on Saturday.

The Cherries’ next game comes on the last day of the month at home to Crystal Palace as they continue to chase their first victory of the new year, having picked up just two points so far in 2017.

Bournemouth twice came from behind to secure their share of the spoils at the Vitality Stadium, with Joshua King and Benik Afobe both on the scoresheet for the hosts.

And while Wilshere – on loan from Arsenal – was quick to praise his side’s character against the Hornets and insists the best is yet to come from his side.

“Watford are a physical team ,” he said. “We dealt with that quite well apart from the two goals which we have to work on.

“They look to get the ball forward quickly but to come back twice in this league is a very difficult thing, it’s hard to take when a team nicks a goal against the run of play.

“We were pushing right until the end and speaking to the boys in the dressing room, we would have been massively disappointed had we not taken anything.

“We’ve got ten days until our next game and the lads will work hard.

“The Everton and the Tottenham games at home were the best we’ve played and we need to use the time to get that extra bit to reach those levels again.”
