Toure delighted with Sane’s City influence

Yaya Toure believes Manchester City have a star in the ranks in Leroy Sane, despite his side letting slip a two-goal lead to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Sane has only been at the Etihad Stadium since the summer following his move from Schalke, but Toure has already been pleased with what he’s seen of the 21-year-old.

The winger got his second goal in a City shirt to give his side the lead against Spurs in his last outing, following up his opener against Arsenal last month – a game City did take all three points from.

And while his side sit 12 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea after goals from Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son, Sane has been a bright spark under Pep Guardiola, at least according to his Ivorian teammate.

“Leroy Sane is a fantastic talent,” said Toure. “For me, he was man of the match.

“Of course, we don’t get the three points – but I think today he was especially very, very good.

“Not only in this game but the Arsenal game as well. The games he’s been involved in, he always makes a difference.

“He’s very quick, sharp, and strong with both legs. I love this player.”
