Dier: Spurs owed Lloris a favour
With the amount of times Hugo Lloris has saved Tottenham Hotspur this season, it was about time the rest of the squad did the talisman a favour – according to Eric Dier.
Spurs picked up a credible 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Saturday, forced to fight their way back after a rare Lloris slip-up allowed Kevin de Bruyne to make it 2-0 just after the break.
Arguably one of the best goalkeeper’s in the Premier League, it was a moment as rare as hen’s teeth for the Frenchman, with Spurs conceding just 16 goals in 22 Premier League games this season, a feat only bettered by table-toppers Chelsea.

But despite his slip – his second of the match after Leroy Sane opened the scoring – goals from Dele Alli and Heung-min Son gave Spurs a share of the spoils at the Etihad Stadium.
Dier was adamant that Lloris didn’t owe the team anything however, after his displays since signing from Lyon in 2012.
“I don’t even want to count the number of times the ten players on the pitch have made a mistake and he’s saved us,” he said.
“It was our time to help him out and thankfully we did that because that’s what he deserves.
“I’ve said it before, for me, he’s the best goalkeeper in the Premier League and if he makes one mistakes in three seasons, we’ll all take that!”
