Honeyman targets strong Black Cats home record
Sunderland have to turn the Stadium of Light into a fortress according to midfielder George Honeyman – starting against Tottenham on Tuesday.
The Black Cats are rooted to the foot of the Premier League table, having lost four of their last five games in the league.
Honeyman has been given his chance in recent weeks, and insists their home form will be crucial to getting out of trouble.

“We have been really good at home this season,” he said.
“Obviously when we get the crowd behind us the stadium can be a real fortress.
“Hopefully if we show how hard we are working, how much effort we are putting in then that’s all the fans want to see.
“That’s all the fans want.
“They want to see 11 lads out there giving their all for the badge and for the club.
“Having experienced it week in, week out going to the Stadium of Light and growing up in the environment, that’s all they want.
“The fans love seeing the lads try, putting in some effort and while not everything is always going to come off, at least if they see a bit of hunger and desire from each and every one of us then they thrive on it and hopefully I can be a part of that.”
