Dembele and Spurs ready to bury the demons of last season

Mousa Dembele insists Tottenham Hotspur have learned their lessons from last season as the title race approaches the business end.

Spurs dropped two points in midweek as they were held by Sunderland to a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light.

But the front runners all dropped points as Chelsea and Liverpool drew while Arsenal slipped to a surprise defeat to Watford.

This weekend sees Spurs take on Middlesbrough while table toppers Chelsea welcome the Gunners to Stamford Bridge.

And after pushing Leicester City so close last season only to fall away at the end, Dembele is confident that Spurs will not falter in the final rounds.

“If we end up in the same situation, maybe we can do something special compared to last year,” Dembele said.

“It is difficult to tell but we have a feeling we can do something, of course.

“Most of us learned from last year. But it is a difficult thing. You need to be in that situation again to see if we have outgrown that.

“But there is a good vibe, a difference to last year.”
