In-form Carroll must stay fit for Hammers insists Reid

Striker Andy Carroll is in great form but he must concentrate on staying fit according to his West Ham teammate Winston Reid.

Carroll scored twice in the Hammers’ 3-1 win away at Middlesbrough last weekend, the first time he’s scored in successive Premier League games since April.

It was the first time the striker had scored more than once in a Premier League away game and Reid was delighted to see him in such sparkling form.

“It’s been good for him to get back among the goals,” he said.

“He’s a happy camper these days and he’s in good form and I’m pleased for him. He’s been scoring goals and doing well and the main thing is that he stays fit.

“He’s been doing really well for us and as a team we’ve been doing well and looking strong up front and been scoring goals which is important for us.

“He brings something completely different to the game and he’s a sort of old fashioned striker if you want to call it that, compared to other types of player that we have.

“It’s good to have different types of players in the team because it gives you different options and I’m sure the manager is happy that he’s scoring.”
