Livermore ready to put in the hard yards at new club West Brom

Jake Livermore is under no illusion about his role under Tony Pulis, and West Brom’s new signing insists he’ll be pulling out all the stops to become a Hawthorns success.

The former Hull midfielder made his full Baggies debut against Stoke City on Saturday, helping his side to a valuable three points and a fourth win in six Premier League games.

Renowned as a tough-tackling midfielder, the 27-year-old seems to be perfectly suited to Pulis’ style of play, signing from the KCOM Stadium with a £10million price tag attached to him.

But with his side now flying in eighth after James Morrison’s early goal, Livermore was keen to praise the achievements of his new teammates.

“He (Pulis) has brought me in to do a job, but I’ll do whatever is necessary to get myself in that team,” he said.

“I knew a bit before kick-off that I was in the team, and I’m always prepared and ready anyway, but I’m delighted to get that first game under my belt, and I thought the lads were fantastic in the first half and equally in the second too.

“All the lads from front to back were fantastic. The second half was a bit of a different game, they came at us a bit more, but we rode the storms well and had a great shape.”
