Fernandino feels Jesus still adapting to life at Man City

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has praised Gabriel Jesus’ lightning fast start to life in the Premier League, but stresses he still needs time to adapt to life away from Brazil.

The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene in the Premier League, scoring three goals and assisting one more in his first two matches, including the last-gasp winner in the vital victory against Swansea on Sunday.

But it’s not just goals that the Brazilian adds to the team as his willingness to chase down defenders and excellent link-up play means he is keeping club legend Sergio Aguero out of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Although Fernandinho says everyone at the club is delighted with his instant impact but was keen to remind everyone he is only young and still needs time to settle.

“He’s here just for a month. He’s scored two goals and a goal in the last match and everybody is happy with that,” the combative City midfielder said.

“I think we just have to keep calm. He’s young and we hope he can keep the same level until the end of the season for this transition into his new life.

“It’s his first time in Europe and it’s not easy but we will help him to be a top player and for the beginning he has shown his quality.

“I am happy about that but we hope he can keep that up for a long time.”
