Zlatan not revealing his Manchester United goal targets
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is hungry for more goals after hitting 20 for the season in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday.
However while the Swedish superstar is refusing to reveal his goal target for the rest of the campaign, after he hit an astonishing 50 last term for Paris Saint-Germain, he says this year’s goal is more pragmatic.
The Swede is the first United player to reach 20 goals in one season since Robin Van Persie did so in 2012/13, during his first year with the club.
He said: “I am not there yet. But I have set a target and that is something I have been doing every year. It is nothing new for me. I keep producing.
“I do my best and I get a lot of help from my team-mates. I know there were many people who said I wouldn’t even score 20 but that is nothing I focus on.
“I have 20 goals and seven assists and the target is in reach like it’s been before in other years, except for last year which was a crazy year!
“Everything motivates me – all the targets, all the critics, the atmosphere, coming to the Premier League and bringing more followers to the Premier League.
“For me, the main objective is to help my team win and do their best and, afterwards, we see what happens.
“We are working hard and we really want to reach the top four and the Champions League.”
