Cork targets Swans improvement over international break
Swansea skipper Jack Cork has called on his side to use the international break to their advantage after a damaging loss to Bournemouth over the weekend.
The 2-0 defeat to the Cherries, coming through an own goal from Alfie Mawson and a Benik Afobe strike, was the second in a row for the Swans, who had lost to relegation rivals Hull the previous week and now find themselves hovering above the bottom three.
Under Paul Clement they had enjoyed something of a revival, with five wins in eight games to boost their survival hopes.
But they have now been dragged right back into the battle at the bottom and Cork insists the upcoming home games against struggling Middlesbrough and high-flying Tottenham will be crucial to their hopes of staying up.

He said: “This is another setback for us, but now we have two big home games to come after the international break. We must react positively in those matches.
“It was very disappointing. We didn’t play as well as we could and we are well aware of that.
“The first goal was unlucky because it takes a massive deflection, but after that we didn’t react well enough. In the second half we didn’t get going.”
