Conte confident Kante can call shots

N’Golo Kante’s shyness has already been noted by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte but the French midfielder just has to let his football do the talking to impress his new boss.

The 25-year-old joined the Stamford Bridge outfit in a £30million deal earlier this month, but only recently linked up with his new team-mates after his extended break following France’s Euro 2016 exploits.

And former Italy boss Conte admits his new signing will take some time to make his voice heard in a changing room not short of leaders.

“We are pleased to have him with us. He doesn’t speak a lot but he does his job,” said Conte.

“He’s a good guy, humble, with a great will to work. It’s very important to me, this.

“He’s in good physical condition, fantastic. He is a runner. He has great stamina and endurance.

“He’s in good shape but we want to respect the time in the training session and put him in to play with us in the future.

“I know people who know N’Golo and they told me he has a fantastic attitude and great energy.

“He doesn’t speak a lot. It is not necessary for him to speak more. I think N’Golo is a bit shy, no? And he’s just arrived at a new club and must find confidence with his team-mates and his manager.”
