Divock Origi hoping for big season after guiding Liverpool to win over AC Milan
Divock Origi believes he could be set for a big season with Liverpool after setting his side on their way to a 2-0 victory over AC Milan in California overnight.
The 21-year-old came on as a second-half substitute at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and proved to be the difference in what was his first appearance of the summer in a Liverpool shirt.
The game was goalless when the Belgian was introduced at half-time and it took him less than 15 minutes to make his mark, as he showed great feet and an impressive feint before firing into the far corner.
The excellent Origi then had another goal ruled out before Roberto Firmino secured the win when he converted Sheyi Ojo’s deflected shot.
“It can be [a big season for me]. I still have to work a lot and there’s a lot of room for improvement, but I try to learn day to day and we’re learning as a team also,” Origi told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I can feel the confidence from everyone and can improve and enjoy my game.
“Year by year I’m improving and I’m still young. The most important thing is to make steps and last year I had some good moments, so I want to learn and become more consistent to help the team even more and become an important player in the team.”
