Dyche shopping for Burnley stability
Sean Dyche hopes new signings can bring stability to Burnley after a rollercoaster start to the season at Turf Moor.
From the high of turning over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at home to the ignominy of an EFL Cup exit at the hands of Accrington Stanley, Burnley’s return to the top-flight has been an adventure so far.
Dyche has let Rouwen Hennings depart on loan to his former club Fortuna Düsseldorf and David Jones moved to Sheffield Wednesday, with club-record signing Steven Defour a notable arrival.
And with the transfer deadline looming, Dyche knows he needs a few key signings to bring consistency to the Clarets as they prepare to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

“The desire to strengthen is all over the pitch, wherever we can. We’re not in a position to cherry pick, we have to work in the market the best we can, and if that means shuffling our pack, then we’ll have to do that.
“But we are active in the market, we want depth, but not too many – some squads are huge and they narrow it down to the 25, but we want a real tight-knit group who can perform and push each other.
“There’s plans to bring people in, whether it’s a forward or other areas. We want to bring as much strength as we can into the building.
“I thought Rouwen’s chances of playing this year were limited, and at his age, he needs to be playing football.
“He hadn’t featured a lot in pre-season, into the season, so we wish him well. A very good professional, but he wants to play.”
