Federici wants more first-team football
Injury and the form of Artur Boruc limited Adam Federici’s game time last term, but the Australia stopper is desperate to win back a regular starting berth with Bournemouth for the new season.
The 31-year-old made his Premier League debut in a 5-1 defeat to Manchester City in October, but an ankle injury suffered in a 3-3 draw with Everton in November led to Federici losing his place and he did not feature again in the league until the final day of the season.
For years Federici had been a regular between the sticks at former club Reading and admits sitting on the bench does not come naturally.
“I didn’t come here to be a No2. I want to play and my views on that haven’t changed,” he said.

“It is frustrating sometimes but I work my socks off in training and, hopefully, it will come good eventually.
“I felt I was a little unlucky last season with the fact I got my chance and then got.
“I would like to have felt I would have pushed on from there and kept the spot.
“I will just keep working hard and, hopefully, will get my chance. If it is not at the start of the season then I will wait for my time and try to push on.”
