Hernandez urges Foxes to increase intensity

New arrival at the King Power Stadium Luis Hernandez has urged Leicester City to up their intensity for their first home game of the season later today.

The defending Premier League champions lost to Hull City in their season opener last weekend but will hope that some home comforts will help them to overcome Arsenal.

The Gunners did the double over Leicester last season and Hernandez knows it will be an extremely tricky fixture for the Foxes.

“It’s a difficult game because Arsenal are a big team with really good players but we’re at home with our supporters,” he said.

“We know that Arsenal’s attacking players are really good with good technique.

“So it will be difficult for us but we need to play together like last season with high intensity and if we do that I think we can win.

“I think now after we lost our first game it’s important to stay calm. I know it’s not easy to lose the first game but we need to be calm because the league is about 38 games.

“We lost the first game but we’re at home and I think it’s a really good game for us and it’d be a good time to win.”

Spanish defender Hernandez signed a four-year deal with the Foxes over the summer having joined from Sporting Gijon on a free transfer.

And the 27-year-old is excited to experience the vocal home support that the Premier League champions thrived under last season.

“I saw last season the atmosphere at King Power Stadium,” he added.

“Now I’m waiting to feel it on the pitch. I’ll be really happy to experience a first game at home. The most important thing is to win though and now is a good time to do that.

“It’s special for a player who is not English to play in the Premier League because it’s an exciting league.”
