Matip and Liverpool just want to go home
Joel Matip and Liverpool are desperate for some home comforts at long last after kicking off their first three Premier League games on their travels.
The Reds had a mixed time of it, securing a dramatic win at Arsenal then losing to Burnley before securing a draw with Spurs last time out.
Matip made his first league start for the club at White Hart Lane, the Cameroonian summer signing from Schalke impressing alongside Dejan Lovren at the heart of the defence.
And the 25-year-old now cannot wait to get back to Anfield and sample that famous atmosphere.
“We were in front for a long time (against Spurs) but in the end, we only got one goal,” he said.

“We have to work with this point. Three games, four points. Now we play at home and we want to take three points.
“It was very intense but it was nice to play 90 minutes.
“Dejan always covered me and gave me help. I also tried to help him. But it was very difficult because it was an intense game. But we can continue and next time maybe we’ll win.”
