Mori happy to follow Koeman’s lead
Ronald Koeman has not been shy of tinkering with his defensive system this year and Argentinian defender Ramiro Funes Mori insists he is happy to be flexible for his boss.
Former Southampton boss Koeman has played with both three and four at the back in the Premier League this season, with Mori playing in every game.
The 26-year-old Argentine says he is no stranger to both systems, enjoying the attacking nature of a back three – something he did with River Plate – and more than content with Koeman’s flexible tactics.
“There is a big difference. In a back three, you can attack more because you have more players further up the pitch,” Mori said.

“But I have played both ways before so playing in a back three is not new to me. I played in a back three when I was at River Plate so its not like I don’t know the tactical position.
“During a game we can alternate between a back three and a back four depending on when the manager asks us to.
“When you have to play with a three, you play with a three and when it’s a four, it’s a four. There is no difficulty for us switching.”
