Pochettino picks out six potential replacements for Lloris
With Hugo Lloris sidelined by a hamstring injury for four weeks Tottenham Hotspur are not only in search of an interim No1 keeper, but also a stand-in skipper.
The France star is set to miss the visits to White Hart Lane of Crystal Palace and Liverpool, but boss Mauricio Pochettino is confident he will return for the trip to Stoke City following the international break.
Pochettino admits he is yet to decide who will wear the Spurs armband in Lloris’s absence, but believes there are six candidates to choose from.
Homegrown striker Harry Kane is likely to head the queue, while at 29 years old Belgium defender Jan Vertonghen is the eldest outfield player and took over the captaincy when Lloris was substituted against Everton on Saturday.

Pochettino is giving little away when it comes to who he may choose to lead the side but is content with the number of candidates at his disposal.
“We have players like Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen – these players could all be captain,” said Pochettino.
“It depends on the starting 11.
“I will decide the starting 11 tomorrow and when my starting 11 is in my mind I will decide who will be captain.”
