Taylor targeting Swansea goal after Wales exploits
Having hit his first goal in more than six years at Euro 2016, Swansea City’s Neil Taylor admits he has a newfound hunger to get on the score-sheet after breaking the barren run.
The 27-year-old was an unlikely scorer in Wales’ 3-0 Group B victory over Russia in the Stadium Municipal, his maiden international goal and the first since netting for Wrexham against Grays on 10th April 2010 in the fifth tier of English football.
But, following his rare net-bulging experience, the full-back is determined to up his tally with the Swans – or at least get his first in the Premier League.
“To score at the Euros was a special feeling. It was an important goal for us too,” he said.
“I’ve put pressure on myself to score for Swansea as I’ve not got a goal yet since I joined!”

With Wales reaching the last four of the Euros, Taylor is confident that he and captain Ashley Williams can reap the benefits of the new season.
Taylor also feels the same can be said for Gylfi Sigurdsson, a man who enjoyed Icelandic heroics before committing his future to Swansea with a four-year contract extension this week.
“We’ve got a few of our boys who did well out there. Fabs (Lukasz Fabianski) did well with Poland, and Gylfi did too, so there’s a big feel-good factor around and hopefully we can take that forward,” he added.
“It’s an exciting year after last season with Leicester winning the league and what we’ve seen over the summer. Swansea are a part of that which is great, we’ve got to enjoy that and while we know there will be ups and downs we can hopefully enjoy it.”
