Dawson itching for Hull return
Michael Dawson is nearing a first Premier League appearance this year and the 32-year-old admitted he is itching to pull on the Hull City colours again.
The former Tottenham Hotspur defender is one of Hull’s most experienced top-flight operators and led the Yorkshire side to promotion last year.
Though Hull have made a solid start to this year’s Premier League under Mike Phelan, the return of Dawson will surely boost spirits at the KCOM Stadium.
But the man himself is just desperate to get back out on the field of play – and has been ever since injuring his medial knee ligament during pre-season against Mansfield Town.

“I have been itching to get back from the night I got injured against Mansfield. It was a massive disappointment to do two and a half weeks of pre-season and then miss the first seven weeks of the season,” Dawson explained.
“You have to work hard to come back and be ready to come back and put that kit on.
“I am close, the Chelsea game will come too soon – I have been out for three to four weeks with the fitness coach, working on my fitness and trying to get over the final bit of discomfort in my knee.
“It is frustrating to be out, but I have done it, I have been there before but now I am looking to come back and be part of the squad that is doing well.”
