Hendrick welcomes price tag pressure at Burnley
Jeff Hendrick insists he feels no pressure whatsoever, despite being Burnley’s record signing.
The 24-year-old joined the Clarets from Derby County on deadline day for £10 million before making his Premier League debut off the bench last weekend against Hull City.
The Ireland international impressed during Euro 2016 and Sean Dyche had been pursuing him for most of the summer.
And Hendrick admits that, with the deal now done, he is only focusing on giving his all for the Clarets.
“I think I’ve got to take it as a compliment really,” he said. “The club were willing to pay that and know I’ve got to show that I’m worth it, I’ve got to put performances in every week and that’s the challenge for me. I look forward to it.

“I’ve had two good days training with the lads and managed to make my first Premier League appearance.
“I’ll knuckle down and start working hard again. If I get selected I’m going to make sure I’m ready to keep the spot.”
