Herrera: Keep me away from granddad De Gea!
Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed he refuses to share a room on away days with goalkeeper David De Gea because of his “horrible” taste in music.
Herrera joined United for £29million from Athletic Bilbao two summers ago, joining up with Spanish compatriot De Gea, who arrived at Old Trafford for £18.9m in June 2011.
At 27 years-old Herrera is two years De Gea’s senior, yet refers to him as “my granddad” because of his fondness for music from his native country.
United have got relatively long-haul flights to make to Turkey and Ukraine for respective Europa League ties with Fenerbahce and FA Zorya Luhansk this season.

But the pair will certainly not be sharing a hotel room with Herrera insisting De Gea’s preferences irritate him to the point he refuses to bed down for the night when United are on the road.
“I couldn’t share a room with David because he’s always singing,” Herrera said.
“He’s always playing horrible music.
“He likes to play very, very old music from Spain. Sometimes I tell him that he looks like my granddad.
“That’s why I try to be as far away as possible when he’s playing music.”
