Hoddle thinks Barkley has magic for England
Former England boss Glenn Hoddle believes Ross Barkley has the magic to make his way back into the national side.
Sam Allardyce’s men beat Slovakia on Sunday thanks to Adam Lallana’s late strike, but Everton’s Barkley had already been axed along with Arsenal midfielder Jack Whilshere – who has since gone on loan to Bournemouth.
West Ham’s Michail Antonio was named ahead of Barkley, but Hoddle does not feel that selection will last and thinks Barkley has enough talent to ensure he will feature for Allardyce in the future.

According to Hoddle, Barkley must focus on the basics and his Three Lions shirt will follow.
“[My team-mates] would tell me to keep playing my midfield role, closing people down, playing simple balls, whatever. They trusted that in doing that, eventually something different might come,” Hoddle said.
“My feeling is that Ross has to do something similar to take the weight off his shoulders.
“Everton fans have long known the talent Barkley possesses and he has already scored twice this season.
“Even if a game is going against you, you can keep doing the simple things well. After all, you only need one magic moment to make a difference.”
