Making history is not enough for new Watford signing Zuniga
Juan Zuniga insists Watford cannot get carried away after a couple of impressive victories – even if one of them was their first over Manchester United in 30 years.
Substitute Zuniga made an immediate impact on Sunday after he put the Hornets in front in the 83rd minute against United, just 53 seconds after being introduced by head coach Walter Mazzarri, who he also worked with at Napoli.
A late Troy Deeney penalty made it 3-1 and guaranteed the Golden Boys’ record of 11 consecutive defeats to Manchester United would end.
Watford’s impressive win over the red half of Manchester came after a spirited 4-2 victory at West Ham United a week earlier.
But despite moving into the top ten, Zuniga has called on everyone to remain calm.

Via a translator, the Colombian international, who joined on loan from Napoli in the summer, said: “He (Mazzarri) told me to ‘go in and do your job and I know you will do your job well. Just go in and do your best to help the team go forward.
“I am very happy to come in and help the team to do what we did.
“To be a part of history, I am happy for the team and I am happy with the scoreline.
“At the beginning we tried to win and we managed to do that for the team, it wasn’t about the history.
“We are happy with what happened on the pitch.
“It was a good win and we have to keep our feet on the floor. We just have to carry on what we are doing and hopefully we will keep doing well in the future.”
